The first single ‘TEE‘ is perhaps Adwaith’s greatest anthem to date! With widescreen sound, it positively bursts through the speakers! Thrilling, introspective verses give way to a glorious, anthemic chorus pumped with big-hearted infatuation and imbued with the band’s memories of speeding across Russia on a life-changing journey to perform. at UU. Its in Ulan-Ude, Siberia. This is a set of sounds to win hearts over the next few months, from one of the hottest bands in Wales right now!

We really wanted to write a sincere song about being in love with someone. explain the group, “It’s not something we normally write about and we wanted to approach this song differently than others. We felt inspired to write a great pop song.

It was a life-changing journey that really inspired us to write this album.” explains bassist Gwenllian Anthony. “The barren landscape and brutalist architecture really seeped into these songs and the use of instruments from around the world was heavily inspired by this journey.. “Our journey through Siberian and Mongolian nature influenced the songwriting and sound of the album to be as open and grand as the boundless sky that surrounds us there,” said Hollie Singer.

Our first album was a lot about growing up in West Wales and growing from teenagers to adults,” said Anthony. “This is the next step in our journey: shit, c’est la vie. We’ve reached reality.

Dead method – Woman!

dead method just released their brand new single ‘Women !‘ and it’s a bop! He says the “The song is a celebration of the female side of Dead Method and all of the powerful LGBTQ+ people in her life, exploring the pros and cons of authentic living.”

In collaboration with Edward Russell (Inside The Groove) who produced the track, the result is dynamic and hard-hitting pop music that moves Dead Method in a more explosive, anthemic and commercial direction. Ripe with disgusting bass lines, illuminating synths, shrill beats and socially conscious lyrics rippling with a confident two-part chorus Erasure a game earlier Lady Gaga. Strike a pose! It’s fantastic!

Murder Club – Sour Candy

Bill yourself as “The Silent Grrrls of the Riot Grrrls”, murder club are an all-female synth, indie and pop band based in Newport, South Wales. Their ace of new single’Sour candies‘ is a catchy, bittersweet slice of indie pop frayed around the edges, with a twist. Subtle percussive sweeps and chiming riffs are applied to this tantalizing song with nostalgic harmonies that dismember sexism and male abuse. With elements of c86 mingling with the most downtempo moments of Sundays. It’s a melodious plea for the agency wrapped in a powerful, fine earworm from this highly promising female quartet.

Benji Wild – Shame

Survey of Wild Benjithe brilliant debut album by ‘Skull and Bones’, from last year, with moving backdrops, Wild delivers an urgent and intense flux, on the dichotomy of life, encapsulating the struggle of daily life, the injustice in the streets, the power of creativity against the pressure to create more and more. Personal, knowing and full of spirit, it is something immense.

Growing up in a low-income family and, in his own words, “an unconventional household”, in an area of Cardiff notorious for crime, it wasn’t the easiest environment, but it was during of those formative years that Benji got into music. and discovered that music was the only future he could see. ‘I put everything into this first album. My upbringing, the good and the bad times, and I hope people will connect. It seems long, but I know the real journey has only just begun.

I am a whore and a holy womanshe sings vehemently ‘The ancestors’, representing the fact that women don’t have to be one or the other, and can be or do whatever they want. It’s not just a catchy anthem, it’s a reaffirmation of the power and history of womanhood. With shades of Kylie and this last Madonnathis elegant, heart-pounding disco-pop anthem caressed by spiraling strings and Maeve’s deft vocals, is an awe-inspiring taste of the high priestess PE. That she callsIt’s “a love letter to women and the sisterhood in general, even featuring videos of the tracks BlueBelle’s own sisters are working on.”

The EP is a journey through time immemorial and is inspired by female figures, both legendary and factual. More than anything, it explores the voices of forgotten women, whose stories needed to be told.

Aderyn – Desire

At Aderyn‘s’Suction‘ she opens with the crippling pain of someone’s unrequited longing, in her best and most personal track yet. With a dynamic that shifts from guitar and vocals to a bittersweet anthem in its own right. Aderyn’s confessional couplets, pretty but darkly brutal, cut to the quick”I feel like I’m dying and I won’t live again / You’re pretty and it hurts right now” she sings as shrewd licks, bouncing drums and rushing strings. Overflowing with vivid images’Suction‘ is effortlessly catchy, raw, and another step forward for this most exciting emerging artist.

I wrote this song on the floor of my childhood room in confinement. It’s a song that encapsulates the feeling of longing for someone. This exquisite, aching pain. It was the first time I felt that for a girl, and it’s definitely the most vulnerable I’ve ever been in a song. All these feelings were so new, so raw” – Aderyn

Recorded in her parents’ home in her childhood bedroom, Aderyn wanted to maintain and capture the vulnerability in the final recording.

We didn’t record to a metronome and added moaning guitars, a bowed double bass and an echoing floor tom that I wanted to make sound like a heartbeat. There are a lot of ups and downs dynamically and with the tempo of this song. I wanted everything musically to be driven by emotion, not convention.”

“When I wrote it, I had only come out to my family a few months before, and it wasn’t an easy journey. There were all these thorny emotions tangled up, and at the center, this girl “

Aderyn to play Wales Goes Pop in April (15-17)

Ailsa Tully – Salt glaze

Ailsa Tully is back with the beautifully sober ‘salt glaze‘ she also announced her first UK headlining tour.

salt glaze‘ is a meditative song that fondly recalls their time spent living in her grandmother’s old house during the lockdown last January. The house has remained unchanged since the death of her grandmother, and the salt-glaze ceramics located all around the family home have been absorbed by Ailsa’s creativity. Sonorous and haunting, Ailsa’s shrill voice pierces hearts above cello, deft bass and intricate guitars. The accompanying video is also wonderfully touching. Shot on homemade video, it lovingly captures the time spent in this house and Ailsa and her partner’s attempts to try and make it their own space.

Don Leisure – Egg yolk bun

Gift Leisure is back with a brand new 25-track album Shaboo Strikes Back. If teasers are anything to go by, it’ll deliver a treasure trove of sounds the first teaser on’Egg yolk bun‘ is a groove-laden trawl through the mists of 70s funk and Indian found samples. The sound of searching through your radio’s dial, it’s a refreshing and quite terrific sound DIY.

Five years have passed since the first chabu the album is out. A collection of beats and tracks that document Don’s youthful road trip – hip hop music interspersed with jingles from old-time Asian radio stations dedicated to the Bollywood actor, Nasser ‘Shabou’ Bharwani – Don Leisure’s late uncle.

Shaboo Strikes Back is a highly anticipated sequel to the 2017 album. This time around he’s invited a few special guests to join him on his travels – including Welsh legend Gruff Rhys provides the vocals on ‘Neon Drizzle (Hotel Shaboo)’, while the acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Bat angel Dawid and harpist signed Jazzman Amanda Whiting lend their talents to ‘All praise due‘. There’s even a special appearance by his young daughter (aka Shaboo’s great-niece!), Naima, on ‘Naima’s Dream‘.

Woodooman – Y Nos Mewn Cariad

Y Nos Mewn Cariad‘ is the new single from lumberjack, Cardiff resident and multi-instrumentalist and entertainer, Iwan Ap Huw Morgan. Eirie, intense and sinister is the sound of darkness, nature at night and contemplation. The tension of the quivering instrumentation rises and falls as Morgan’s unique baritone sums up the landscape from “fire to ice.” The best part comes with the puffing pianos and a scratch as he urges us to let the thoughts flow. Captivating and epic.

The song is inspired by the artist’s love of solitude. It’s a celebration of the beauty of the night and its mystery as he urges us to free our minds and open our hearts to the unknown.
