Public schools in Broward County have recorded 1,478 cases of COVID-19 among students and staff as of September 9, reflecting a 61% increase in new infections reported since the previous week, the data showed.
Coronavirus infections have been confirmed for at least 1,109 students and 369 school employees (1,478 in total), according to the school system’s COVID-19 dashboard. In the district’s previous update of COVID data reflecting confirmed cases through September 2, Broward schools reported 916 cases in total.
The new data shows self-reported coronavirus cases for school employees, as well as confirmed cases for students in in-person instruction, since the start of the school year on August 18.

In Parkland, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School has reported 13 cases; Park Trails Elementary School has reported 12 cases; Heron Heights Elementary School has reported 13 cases and Westglades Middle School has reported five cases.
Among schools in Coral Springs, Coral Glades High School has reported 22 cases of COVID-19 since the first day of school; JP Taravella High School has reported four cases; Coral Springs High School has reported 15 cases; Coral Springs Middle School has reported three cases; Forest Glen Middle School has reported six cases; Ramblewood Middle School has reported 10 cases; Coral Springs Elementary School has reported six cases; Parkside Elementary School has reported five cases; Riverside Elementary School has reported 10 cases; Westchester Elementary School has reported 11 cases; Ramblewood Elementary School has reported 15 cases; Country Hills Elementary School reported one case; Coral Park Elementary School has reported five cases; Park Springs Elementary School has reported 17 cases and Forest Hills Elementary School has reported three cases.
