CAS Open Golf Championship kicks off

With approximately 400 golfers from across the country, the leader of the Air Staff Open Golf Championship kicks off today at the Airmen’s Golf Club and Recreation Park, Korangi Creek.

Air Vice Marshal Zubair Hassan Khan, president of the Airmen’s Golf Club and Leisure Park, inaugurated the championship, the PAF spokesman said in a statement.

In the first round of the Tallat Ijaz tournament, Muhammad Shahzad and Shahbaz Masih scored 70 (2 under par).

Bilal Hussain, Khalid Khan, Muhammad Munir, Matloob Ahmed and Akbar Mehroz finished the set at 71 (1 under par). Ahmed Baig, Minhaj Maqsood, Abid Rana and Muhammad Shabbir remained third on the board with a score of 72 (par).

The 41st edition of the CAS Open Golf Championship is one of the biggest golf tournaments in the country, with the participation of more than 100 professional golfers.

Matches in the Professional, Senior/Junior Professional, Amateur, Airmen Golf Club Members, Ladies, Veterans and Guests category will be played during the Championship. The Rs 10.5 million championship will be played over 18 holes over four days on one of the toughest golf courses in the country.

A brand new MG ZS (1500cc) was also offered to the player who scores the hole in one.
