Wick’s East Caithness Community Facility (ECCF) will reopen on Saturdays starting this weekend, High Life Highland has confirmed.
From September 4, the Newton Road center will be open from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for public swimming and until 1:30 p.m. for gym-goers.
Saturday swimming lessons will start from September 11 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. Classes will focus on beginners and will accommodate 48 children in both classes.
High Life Highland Sports and Recreation Director Douglas Wilby said: October vacation.
“We are also looking forward to hosting the Wick Swim Club on Saturday, a great club for swimmers between the ages of six and 18 and offering the opportunity for swimmers to compete at the local and national levels.”
High Life Highland is considered the only recreation provider in the country to offer access to swimming lessons as part of its highlife membership program.
ECCF Director Alan Larnach said: “I am very happy that we have been able to accommodate the number of children we currently have in our various swimming lesson programs – 272 in our swimming learning programs. swimming and instruction for adults and children – and we ‘We have also again hosted our schools for swimming sessions.

East Caithness Community Center is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 8:35 p.m. Saturday opening hours will be 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Wick Library is open from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
