Burstead Golf Club

First place goes to Burstead Golf Club in Billericay, which has 73 “excellent” reviews. Situated just beside the River Crouch, the club has 18 holes set in beautiful grounds and a stunning clubhouse overlooking the course. With a strict dress code and a pro shop on site, this club oozes class and exclusivity. The rave reviews for excellent food and service at the clubhouse mean it’s a great place to treat dad after a few laps on the course.

Stock Brook Country Club

Another Billericay club is among the top clubs on TripAdvisor, with Stock Brook Country Club coming in second with 94 “excellent” reviews. The mansion/clubhouse doubles as a wedding venue, so as you can imagine the course is absolutely stunning and has the necessary facilities. A terrace overlooks the 275-acre estate which has 27 holes on its championship course. The company encourages players of all skill levels to enjoy a few rounds, making it the perfect place for a day of bonding with dad.

Forrester Park Golf Club

Forrester Park Golf Club offers an 18-hole course between Witham and Maldon, with 32 ‘excellent’ and 19 ‘very good’ ratings. The clubhouse is acclaimed by reviewers for its reasonably priced food and friendly atmosphere, making it a great choice for a laid-back day of golf. The venue also hosts weddings and as you might expect, it’s the picture of countryside bliss.

Little Channels Golf Center

Located just outside Chelmsford in Little Waltham, the Little Channels Golf Center has almost entirely positive reviews (only one bad), which is unprecedented and shows how much people love the venue. It is lauded for its affordability and “excellent course” for all abilities, spanning nine holes, with an on-site driving range. Reviewers say you’ll need every club in the bag for the interesting course, while the bar and bistro is in a beautifully restored barn. A nice place for a quiet day.

Rivenhall Oaks Golf Center

Rivenhall Oaks Golf Center has two nine-hole courses just down the A12 from Witham and has plenty of great reviews. This is a great place for families as there is a crazy golf course as well as the two “unique” courses for adults, one of which has a fun raft crossing. All the reviewers applaud the place for its family facilities, so it’s a good hotel for anyone bringing their significant other and the kids for Father’s Day.
