BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Kentucky State Police Station Three will host their annual golf race on Friday, September 17.
The event benefits Trooper Island on Dale Hollow Lake, a free week-long summer camp for Kentucky children.
Each year, Post Three at Bowling Geen takes approximately 40 children from the eight counties to camp for free.

“It means a lot to have this one-on-one interaction with these kids and to have a positive impact because a lot of them have never been with law enforcement or have possibly seen law enforcement some of the worst days of their lives. So it’s a good way for us to be able to show them that, you know, we are here to help them, ”said the public information officer of the KSP, Private Daniel Priddy.
The first, second and third places in the golf scramble will receive cash prizes. There will also be $ 800 in door prizes to be offered.
If you get a hole-in-one-on-hole eight, you’ll receive a free car courtesy of Bailey Gibson in Glasgow.
The teams are made up of four people. It costs $ 60 per person to register or $ 240 per team. Lunch, drinks, t-shirt and golf cart are included with registration.
To RSVP, contact Tracey Sharber by email at [email protected] or call (270) 782-2010.
“Anyone who wants to be a part of this island of soldiers and the good it does, whether you got out of it, or if you can’t make it that day, you know, we still accept donations.” It’s just a way of continuing to make Trooper Island succeed every year.
Trooper Island doesn’t cost taxpayers anything, which is another reason KSP says this golf race is so important.
