A NEW golf teaching studio is about to open in Fearnhead.
A planning permission application seeks consent from Warrington Borough Council for the development of Poulton Park Golf Club.
The new 48m² building at the Crab Lane site, which will be in use from 8am to 8pm daily, will provide an “all weather, year round facility” for practice and training.
The tender documents stated: “The current proposal is for an 8m x 6m golf teaching studio adjacent to the current professional’s shop.
“This will provide a protected all-weather, year-round facility for individual practice, training and custom fitting of golf clubs by the three golf professionals working at the club.
“The proposed studio will be built on a generally unused part of the club’s practice green – without interfering with the used part of the green – and on a small amount of existing vacant land.
“The new facility will provide much improved amenities for members, guests, corporations and visitors.
“This will allow the three golf professionals to offer lessons to ladies and juniors in warmth and comfort. It will also generate increased revenue for the golf club, both through the use of the facility itself and the increased revenue associated with the bar and catering.
“This additional income will help preserve existing jobs, including casual staff.
“The facility will be restricted to members, their guests, corporations and visitors.
“As a result, there will be no significant increase in vehicle traffic or the need for additional parking space.”
