Parkland neighborhood parking lot transforms into neighborhood green landscape

A parking lot in the Parkland neighborhood has been officially transformed into a community greenscape.Lowest Louisville neighbors stepped out Saturday for the grand opening of Parkland Plaza.The plaza features open space with benches, trees and a garden.Families were able to enjoy music and food during the celebration while the children were able to bounce on a bouncy castle.”For someone who grew up here, it’s beautiful to see our neighborhood get what he needs, get what he deserves, but it’s also a good feeling to know that it’s the people. This all belongs here in the Parkland neighborhood,” said Johnique ‘Johni’ Isom. In 2020 , the city received a matching grant of $42,000 to build the community plaza.
