Parkland RCMP investigate theft of victim at gunpoint in Parkland County – Canada Police report

Parkland County, Alberta – On November 7 at approximately 1:50 am, Parkland RCMP received a report of a man who had been robbed at gunpoint in Township Road 270 and Range Road 515. The suspects had pointed a gun on the appellant, took his wallet, cell phone and a small amount of marijuana before running away.

Members of the Capital West Traffic RCMP intervened in the area with members of the Parkland Detachment and the suspect vehicle was located. The RCMP attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled and a chase was initiated. As the vehicle drove to Edmonton, Alta., The chase was picked up by the City of Edmonton Police Air 1 helicopter.

Edmonton Police were able to arrest the suspects soon after at a car wash on 162 Street and 118 Avenue without incident. Parkland RCMP recovered a sawn-off shotgun, an air pistol and other items involved in the incident.

Four people were arrested in connection with the theft and only two were charged with the following:

Caleb Marks (30) – Robbery x1 and non-compliance with court-ordered conditions x 4

Keegan Power (20) – Robbery x 1, operation (of means of transport) while prohibited x 1, breach of a probation order x 2 and escape from the police x 1

Marks and Power were remanded in custody. The two will appear in Stony Plain Provincial Court on November 10, 2021. The other two suspects have been released without charge and the investigation is ongoing.

The victim in this case was known to the offenders and is believed to be an isolated incident. The victim was slightly injured during the altercation.
