The Hoosick Falls golf team continued their season with a victory over Hoosic Valley on Tuesday at Battenkill Country Club (par 35).

The Panthers played well, defeating Hoosic Valley by a score of 5-0. Hoosick Falls rookie Aiden Fleming was the game’s lowest scoring round 34 to under 1 after securing back-to-back birdies on the third and fourth holes.

Ben Jensen 53 ran Hoosic Valley. Other Hoosick Falls scores include Miles Smith 40, Allison Hathaway 44, Brady Hathaway 48, Dylan Callahan 49, and Ethan Yonconish 52.

The victory brings the Panthers’ record to 3-0 to start the 2021 season. They will host Mechanicville on Thursday, then travel to Saratoga Catholic on Friday to end the week.

ALBANY, NY – The Russell Sage College men’s basketball team will once again host the Columbus Day Boys Basketball Clinics on October 11. The clinic will be held at the Kahl Gym in Albany, New York.

Russell Sage Gators’ Columbus Day Skills Clinic is designed to help players develop the skills needed to be successful in today’s competitive basketball. This clinic is geared towards boys ages 10 to 17 and will include offensive and defensive skills training, competitive 3v3 play, shooting competitions and one-on-one instruction to help campers prepare for the season. to come. The fee per camper is $ 65.

The “Camp Bank” will offer campers the opportunity to purchase lunch, drinks or snacks throughout the day without having to bring cash. Campers will need to bring a lunch bag with them to camp if they do not plan to purchase their meal.

Meet Coach Barnes

Brian Barnes is in his 13th year as the Men’s Basketball Head Coach at Russell Sage College. He was hired in 2008 to create the basketball program from scratch. Sage is entering his 12th NCAA Division III men’s basketball season after winning the 2015 Skyline Conference Championship and securing a berth in the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Named Skyline, ECAC Metro and Regional Coach of the Year NABC, Barnes led the Gators to the most successful season in program history in 2015. His 2017 team won the Northern Skyline regular season championship. The Gators secured postseason spots in the 2020 and 2021 Empire 8 tournaments and advanced to the league semifinals in 2021.

Barnes is no stranger to basketball in the Capital District, having run sold-out basketball camps and clinics in Sage for the past decade. The RSC Gator Columbus Day Skills Clinic offers a great experience and an educational and enjoyable basketball day that will keep campers in the area coming back for more!

He was a four-year letter recipient and senior tri-captain for the University of Albany Great Danes. Graduating from Albany in 2003, Barnes went on to serve as director of basketball operations for two seasons before spending three years as RPI’s top assistant from 2005 to 2008.

Patriot Day clinic scheduled for September 11

BENNINGTON – Castleton’s assistant wrestling coach Steven Forrest will be hosting the Patriot Day Clinic on September 11 at KOV MMA Gym & Fitness on September 11.

The clinic will start at 11 a.m. with challenge matches after 2 p.m. All wrestlers, mixed martial artists and those who practice jiu jitsu are welcome.
