Acronis SCSVets, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing unemployment and unemployment, announced its first golf tournament on September 10 at the Arizona Grand Golf Course.
All proceeds will be used to support the organization’s IT workforce skills training and certification programs for veterans and military spouses.
Acronis SCSVets was launched in December 2019 by Acronis SCS, one of the leading cyber protection and edge data security companies based in Scottsdale, according to a press release.
Acronis SCSVets mission parallels the Biden administration’s cybersecurity conference, held earlier this month, regarding growing the cybersecurity talent pool.
The golf tournament will be the organization’s first public fundraiser since the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The goal is to raise $ 80,000, which will fund 45 additional veterans and military spouses to participate in our program,” said Michael Schwartz, Acronis SCSVets Program Manager and US Navy Decorator.
Veterans and military spouses are finding themselves unemployed or underemployed at alarming rates. During the pandemic, veteran unemployment rates reached 12%, according to the press release. Those who participated in Acronis SCSVets programs recorded a graduation rate of 93% and an employment rate of 79%.

Golf Digest has awarded the Arizona Grand Golf Course four “Best Places to Play” stars. The event will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m., followed by a networking reception and closing ceremony. Seating is available at $ 500 for golf quartets and $ 50 for networking reception tickets.
