DAYTON – The Tongue River Valley Community Center on Friday shared its July schedule with several month-long programs on the calendar for this month, including a youth strength and nutrition program and summer day camp MakeHer.
The strength and nutrition program for grades 6 to 12 will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m. from July 6 to 29. Participants will learn how to use free weights and circuit machines, as well as physical nutrition and the importance of healthy eating. The program costs $ 25 for TRVCC Dayton members and $ 35 for non-members.
The MakeHer summer day camp begins next week on July 6 and ends on July 9 for students in grades six to eight. From July 19 to 22, students in grades three to five can participate. Both camps will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at TRVCC Ranchester with lunch provided.
The MakeHer program is a partnership between the Wyoming Afterschool Alliance, the University of Wyoming COE Innovation Center, the University of Wyoming 4-H, and the University of Wyoming College of Education. Camp participants will explore concepts of science, technology, engineering, and math through project-based learning such as 3D design and printing, vinyl cutting, and t-design. custom shirts.
Both boys and girls can register for MakeHer Camp, and the program costs $ 40 for TRVCC members and $ 60 for non-members.
TRVCC Dayton will be hosting Beginning New at Golf sessions from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Friday from July 9 to 30. Youth ages eight to 88 are welcome to participate, and sessions cost $ 15 for members and $ 25 for non-members.
Later this month, TRVCC will be hosting a “Sew Fun” Camp for Grades 4-8 students from July 19-22. Materials and machinery are provided for $ 40 for members and $ 60 for non-members.
