Top Food Ratings Served at Keighley Area Nursing Homes

TWO care homes in the Keighley District have achieved the highest possible marks for their food hygiene standards.

Currergate in Steeton and Beanlands in Cross Hills have been awarded a five star rating by the Food Standards Agency.

This follows recent inspections at the homes, which are owned by Czajka Care Group.

Group Managing Director Konrad Czajka said: “The Food Hygiene Rating System is run by the local council and is a great way to raise awareness of our high standards of care and attention to detail. when it comes to the food we prepare and cook for our residents and their families.

“It’s a pleasure to be able to create fresh, healthy and nutritious meals that appeal to all ages and tastes.

“Mealtimes are also a central occasion in the day for many, giving everyone the opportunity to get together and grab a bite to eat with friends, family and loved ones – which is why we always provide a meal for anyone visiting. our homes as well.”

Mr. Czajka explains that whenever possible, the family business uses local suppliers.

Fruit and vegetables are supplied from Keighley, and all its meat is supplied by a butcher in Saltaire.

“It helps us maximize the traceability of our stock,” adds Czajka.

“It’s something we’re very proud of.

“We also cater for any special dietary requirements, including vegetarians, vegans, diabetics and those with food intolerances and religious diets – and regularly ask residents about their preferred foods and preferences to ensure incorporate them into our menus, which offer a lot of variety and constantly updated.

“We are all very proud of the five-star accreditation and will display it with pride.”

The other houses in the group – Brookfield, Staveley Birkleas and Fairmount, which are all in Nab Wood, Shipley – also received the highest rating.

And five stars have been awarded to its fitness and leisure club – The Clubhouse, in Fairmount Park. Its restaurant and bar – which are open to members, Fairmount Park residents and the general public – are a popular spot for meals, parties and special events.

Mr Czajka said: “Our clubhouse hosts a number of themed nights – and its regular Friday fish and chips is always popular! It recently hosted a Chinese New Year party and our chefs always cook a fabulous lunch special for Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve meals.”
