A villager was arrested after she was seen driving a golf cart at 40 km / h on the Florida Turnpike.

Carol Lynn Crispino, 64, who lives at 760 Kauska Way in the Fruitland Park section of The Villages, was driving the golf cart at 8:15 p.m. Saturday heading south on the Florida Turnpike near Exit 304, according to a Florida Highway Patrol arrest report.

A Road Ranger spotted the golf cart and started following it “to prevent it from being hit by traffic,” according to the arrest report. Crispino proceeded to the Okahumpka duty station where she was greeted by an FHP soldier who had been contacted by the Road Ranger.

The soldier asked the New York native how she got lost on the freeway and she said she didn’t know. She admitted that she had “about three drinks with dinner at Brownwood Square in The Villages,” according to the report.

Crispino performed poorly on field sobriety exercises and provided breath samples which recorded BACs of 0.150 and 0.157. She was arrested for drunk driving and held in the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting a $ 500 bond. His golf cart was towed from the scene.
